Our History

Since 1992, DAISOGEL has been proudly made in Japan under the direction of our dedicated manufacturing team at our Amagaski factory outside of Osaka, Japan.

Start of silica gel manufacturing for liquid chromatography at Amagasaki Plant.

1993

Addition of Matsuyama Plant and chemical bonding facility.

1996

Amagasaki Plant ISO 9001 Certified.

2000

Silica production capacity doubled.

2006

DAISO Fine Chem USA, Inc. established.

2008

DAISO Fine Chem GmbH established. Silica production capacity doubled again. Chemical bonding capacity tripled at Amagasaki Plant. First GMP compliant batches produced

2009

ODS and C8 phases registered on FDA DMF.

2013

Silica production capacity expanded by 50%. Chemical bonding capacity doubled.

2015

All ODS, C8, C4 phases registered on FDA DMF. 100th Year Anniversary of parent company. Corporate name change to OSAKA SODA CO., LTD. 

2018

Silica production capacity doubled and warehouse expansion.

2019

PK Series premium silica gel launched.

Kosuke Kabe

President

Kosuke “Ko” Kabe leads DAISO Fine Chem USA and is based in Torrance, CA. Ko has over 16 years of experience in the analytical HPLC column industry and is now thrilled to be working in the preparative industry.

Ko’s team strives to continually improve DAISOGEL’s products and services. His ideals are simple: deliver the appropriate silica gel for the client’s purification process, and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.

Kazu “Kaz” Kudo holds a B.S. Degree in Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego and currently resides in
Los Angeles.

Kaz is responsible for DAISOGEL sales and business development covering the Americas and Canada. A lover of sports and an avid baseball fan, one of his bucket list dreams is to visit every Major League Baseball stadium!

About OSAKA SODA

Originally founded in 1915 as DAISO CO., LTD, OSAKA SODA CO., LTD. was the first company in Japan to succeed in industrial-scale production of caustic soda using electrolysis.

In 2015, the company took on the name OSAKA SODA CO., LTD., and today, continues its pursuit of the potential of chemistry to create innovative products in challenging new fields that contribute to the development of industry and society.
