Screening Guide

Once the COMPASS has pointed you in the best direction for your molecule, you are ready to embark on your screening studies. It is crucial that the stationary phase that best achieves project goals be selected. Otherwise, the whole project will be off to a bad start. For some projects, the key goal may be product yield. For others, it may be upfront silica gel cost. For others, bulk silica delivery time and loading may be key. Here are some other considerations for screening columns:

  1. Base your screening selection on science. DO NOT simply use whatever stationary phase you have on hand!
  2. DO be impartial while screening columns. Use the same particle size, conditions, samples, and equipment.
